SKOWHEGAN, MAINE—The Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture has named Cerrie Woodner Bamford director of development and events, Annie Armstrong reports for Artnews. Bamford joins Skowhegan after fourteen years at the Museum of Modern Art, where she managed the Friends of Education membership group and contributed to development, programming, and special events.
At Skowhegan, Bamford will oversee fundraising and development of the school’s programs. “Cerrie is a passionate advocate for artists who shares our deep commitment to advancing opportunities for artists from many backgorunds,” Skowhegan co-directors Katie Sonnenborn and Sarah Workneh said in a statement. “In this pivotal moment for Skowhegan, as we embark on a campus Master Plan and look ahead to the school’s seventy-fifth anniversary in 2021, we are thrilled to have her on board.”
