Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design 2016 MFA Thesis Exhibitions

Georgia State University and the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design presented its 2016 MFA Thesis Exhibitions at the Ernest G. Welch Galleries from March 7 – April 8.

The series of solo MFA thesis exhibitions are created, curated, and installed by MFA students in the final semester of their degree programs. The exhibitions are culminating events for MFA students, and also serve as new comprehensive bodies of work, that often are presented into the professional world.

Located in Atlanta’s vibrant and diverse urban setting, the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design MFA program is NASAD accredited. The overarching goal is to conduct rigorous scholarly and studio based activities that foster challenging conceptual, technical and intellectual development. All MFA-accepted students receive full-tuition waivers, monthly stipends as part of assistantships, and are eligible for competitive Welch Fellowships. The program prepares MFA graduates with “real world” experiences such as teaching, exhibition opportunities, as well as international art fair engagement. For the past five years, the school has showcased its third-year MFA graduates with an exhibition at Aqua Art Miami fair during Art Basel Miami week in December.
