School of Waters, Mediterranea 19 Young Artists Biennale

BJCEM – Biennale des jeunes créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée is an international network based in Brussels and Turin that counts 47 members and partners from 16 European and Mediterranean countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Montenegro, Norway, Republic of San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, and Austria.

BJCEM promotes and organizes MEDITERRANEA, the The Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean and many others educational and research programs like “A Natural Oasis?” and “Mediterranea Meetings”.

The first edition of the Biennale took place in 1985 in Barcelona and through the years it has been hosted in such cities as Marseille, Valencia, Lisbon, Sarajevo, Athens, Milan, Tirana.

BJCEM has collaborated with many museums and institutions such as MACRO in Rome, Italy, Nottingham Contemporary, UK or the Thessaloniki Museum of Contemporary Art in Greece.

It is a member of Anna Lindh Foundation and Culture Action Europe.
