China Academy of Art

Since the National Academy of Art, the predecessor of China Academy of Art (CAA), established in 1928, the navigation and steering of this academy have been witnessed during the ninety years of time. CAA has always been leading the pioneering journey of Chinese art with her unremitting exploration and perseverance. Meanwhile, as a core site that continues to gestate and promote the development of art education, CAA highlights her experimental spirit and manifesto devoted to art education in the changing times and generations.

CAA shoulders its dual responsibilities of cultural inheritance and innovation, and artistic education. It dedicates to build a new group of disciplines focused on specialized visual art courses in Eastern culture and techniques. It sets up a "two-stage" teaching structure including foundation studies and specialized studies incorporating the "lab-workshop-research center" model. The academy develops a new system of "Five Disciplines and Ten+ Schools" in addition to the bachelors, Masters, and doctoral programs.
