Studio Arts College International’s three gallery spaces, two in Florence and our newest addition in New York City, feature art and design works by SACI students, alumni, and faculty, as well as emerging and established international artists and designers. These galleries act as focal points of the contemporary art scene in both cities. The SACI New York Gallery was established August 2017, in the Chelsea District of Manhattan, as a not-for-profit institution dedicated to showcasing artists in the field of contemporary art. Particularly highlighting the faculty and alumni of the Florence-based college of art and design, SACI NY Gallery connects alumni with professionals, art collectors and other artists to create an ever growing family dedicated to the fine art world.

The New York Gallery hosts four to six exhibitions a year. The majority of exhibitions run for three months, with some shorter exhibitions lasting only a week. Our fall and spring exhibitions highlight notable SACI alumni in various media, consisting of, but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, illustration, sculpture and mixed media installations. The winter exhibitions are reserved for professors from SACI and partnering universities nationwide. Summer exhibitions are dedicated to SACI’s graduating classes in MFA in Photography, MFA in Studio Art, and MFA in Communication Design.

The location in Chelsea puts the SACI NY Gallery in the center of the city’s most profound art and art exhibitions. Located around the corner from the Whitney Museum and on the same street of David Zwirner Gallery, you can find our doors open during the Chelsea Gallery Walk on Thursday evenings for exhibition receptions and artist talks. We are partnered with organizations such as Artspace Auction House, The Other Art Fair in Brooklyn, and Aperture Foundation. With these partnerships, we hope to further promote our artists and aid them in establishing their careers in the fine art world of New York City. SACI Gallery takes part in local seasonal events, such as New York Jewelry Week, where we showcase the designs from some of our notable jewelry designer alumni that have exhibited in places such as the MET and Brooklyn Museum.

As a not-for-profit institution, all proceeds on art sales go directly to the artist with a small percentage set aside for SACI student scholarships. This, in turn, supports exhibiting SACI artists, while supporting new incoming students who are just beginning their career in the arts.

All SACI alumni and partners are welcome to submit a proposal to exhibit their work in New York. Our exhibitions are juried and planned one to two years in advance.
