UNFINISHED returns to the National Museum of Art of Romania in Bucharest, September 26–29, 2019.

This year, UNFINISHED is especially honoured to launch ROMANIAS an exhibition and publication with Magnum Photos on the occasions of Romania's 100-year anniversary and 30 years since its Revolution. The project, curated by Florian Ebner, chief curator of photography at the Centre Pompidou, brings together photographs by Bieke Depoorter, Thomas Dworzak, Paolo Pellegrin, Alec Soth and Newsha Tavakolian from Magnum Photos as well as by Cristian Movilă. Designed by Sascha Lobe & Pentagram London, the book will be released for the first time during the UNFINISHED festival.

UNFINISHED is born from the urgency of appreciating the value of each other in our respective lives. Part festival, part conference, part art, part undefined: UNFINISHED is an experience in constant evolution. It is built on the belief that people excel when they learn from disciplines different than their own. Far more than an event, it is a vibrant community of global thinkers and makers that disrupts existing models of thinking and being through a simple strategy: breaking echo-chambers.

This means creating the most multidisciplinary environment possible, built around three main pillars: multidisciplinarity of ideas—by targeting the overlap of all industries rather than a single one; multidisciplinarity of forms—through a unique combination of exchange platforms; and multidisciplinarity of people—by mixing backgrounds, industries, generations and achievement levels.

As Buckminster Fullerwisely said: “You never change things by fighting against the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the old model obsolete.”
