Today’s art and design graduate students need master’s programs focused on tomorrow. MICA invites you to find your place in one of our top-10 ranked Master of Fine Arts programs, first-in-nation Master of Art programs, or groundbreaking MBA or Master of Professional Studies Programs.

Learn more about these programs, and how they might benefit your artistic or professional practices, at MICA’s graduate open studios and graduate open house events being held November 9–10.

MICA’s open studios event, hosted Friday, November 9 from 4 to 7pm, offers the opportunity for prospective students to see the work being made by current graduate students and ultimately seeks to foster both cross-pollination between programs and larger collaborations across Baltimore’s art community.

Prospective students are also invited to meet current students, interact with program faculty and visit graduate studios and resources at the 2018 Graduate Open House, held Saturday, November 10 from 9am to 4pm in the College’s Fred Lazarus IV Graduate Studio Center. This is an ideal introduction to MICA’s offerings with program featuring information on all 20 of MICA’s MFA, MA, MBA, MPS and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate programs.

(1) In addition to weekly visits from the director, MICA MFA Painting students benefit from working with visiting artists and critics. Twice each semester, students meet with a visiting artist who gives a slide talk and makes individual studio visits for discussion and critique.

(2) Each year, MICA’s graduate students participate in MICA GRAD SHOW through ground-breaking exhibitions, presentations, public programs and student-curated installations throughout Baltimore City.

(3) Full-time graduate students are provided independent studios or collaborative workspaces with 24/7 access while their classes are in session and during spring break periods for the duration of their residencies.

(4) MICA’s Filmmaking program works with aspiring narrative, documentary, and experimental filmmakers to refine their practice and to engage with evolving distribution and business models.
