The School of Architecture and the Built Environment is one of ten schools at KTH. We employ about 700 people and we have about 3 000 students. We have a unique breadth of subject range where we educate and research on future society, about how cities, buildings and infrastructure should be designed and built. On how to create a good living environment for people while taking into account environmental, energy, economic and social factors. We are proud of the good relations we have with industry and other players in the world.

We are currently looking for an Associate Professor in Theory and History of Architecture
The subject encompasses studies of architecture and the built environment as understood from both theoretical and historical perspectives. Leaning towards the history of recent pasts and critical, historiographical studies, the subject takes analyses of contemporary conditions as its point of departure. Focus is placed on studies of the post-war architecture and built environment, although a broader interpretation is not excluded.

Duties
The position demands participation in both research and education in first- and second-cycle courses within the architectural program, as well as supervision and participation in third-cycle courses within the doctoral programme in architecture. Besides teaching on a practical basis, this also includes examination and course coordination, as well as pedagogical development. Duties within research include independently establishing new collaborations and research projects, through applications and research funding, as well as managing and developing research within the theory and history of architecture, and in collaboration with other subject fields and sub areas within architecture. The position may include faculty work and leadership assignments in relation to both research and education.

Eligibility requirements
Qualified for appointment as an associate professor is a person who has been awarded a PhD or has the corresponding research competence or some other professional expertise that is of value in view of the subject matter of the post and the duties that it will involve, and have demonstrated teaching expertise.
