New students (3-5) are admitted to post-graduate studies leading to a Doctorate in Fine Arts. The studies will commence in autumn 2007. Admissions will be announced on 31 May 2007.

The purpose of the Doctoral degree programme is to support post-graduate students to produce new artistic knowledge and give them a capacity to produce mature, high-quality works in their chosen field of art. Doctoral studies comprise 240 credit points and are practice based.

Applicants with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts are eligible to apply for post-graduate studies. The Academy can accept an applicant without the required degree qualification if the Academy determines that the applicant has the corresponding knowledge and skills (Decree 381/97 on the Degrees of the Academy of Fine Arts). Other admission criteria are sufficient artistic talent and the capability to engage in artistic research producing new knowledge.
