Peformative Reading with Eleanor Antin

Eleanor Antin presents Chapters 5–8 from her coming-of-age memoir, Conversations with Stalin. This reading is one in a four-part series in which Antin presents at different venues around New York: The Jewish Museum (Oct. 28), Brooklyn Museum (Nov. 1), Columbia University (Oct. 30), and the Whitney Museum (Nov. 3).

In Rirkrit Tiravanija‘s second feature film, Lung Neaw Visits His Neighbours, he follows 60-year old Lung Neaw through his daily life as a retired rice farmer in a small village in a Northern Thai Province. Lung Neaw’s simple and humble life offers a contemplative look at the sufficiency of compassion and humility.

Columbia University School of the Arts Public Programs are guided by a commitment to presenting new voices, international perspectives and scholarship across the arts. These events aim to create a forum for the exchange of ideas among practitioners, students, scholars and the public.
