From 6 to 10 August, twenty-four selected artists become part of the Warp Artist Village at C-mine in Genk (Belgium). They are: Ifeoma Anyaeji (Nigeria), Hannes Bend (Germany/Norway), Mike Crane (Colombia/US), Liesje De Laet (Belgium), Sylvie De Meerleer (Belgium), Arnaud De Wolf (Belgium), Sarah-Mace Dennis (Australia), Nicolas Grenier (Canada), Liesbet Grupping (Belgium), Marie- Claire Krell (The Netherlands), Catriona Leahy (Ireland), Ulrik Lopez (Mexico/US), Maria Mc Kinney (Ireland), Hsiang-Lu Meng (Taiwan), Jane Mi (US), Griet Moors (Belgium), Kevin Nieuwenhuijs (The Netherlands), Felix Nybergh (Finland), Rashanna Rasied-Walker (US), Eva Spierenburg (The Netherlands), Ben Vandenberghe (Belgium), Javier Velazquez (Spain), Morgane Vie (France) and Colin Waeghe (Belgium).

This project, where young artists from all over the world reflect upon and discuss their artistic practice with engaged commentators, is a collaboration between Warp Contemporary Art Platform located in Sint-Niklaas and C-Mine in Genk. The interaction with curators, art critics, museum directors, psychoanalysts or established artists is a unique starting point to further develop their professional art career. Warp tends to develop long-term relations with artists, giving them the opportunity to participate in the triennial ‘Coup de ville.’ During this edition of the Artist Village, a special focus goes to the closing of the local Ford manufacturing plants and the revitalization of the Genk area in the near future.

Each evening there is an open programme with presentations by Philippe Van Cauteren (artistic director of S.M.A.K. Ghent), ecological scientist Peter Tom Jones, a concert by the Nadar ensemble, a screening of the movie Fire Followers by former Warp Artist Village participant Karolina Bregula, and an astounding Warp Art Party to finish.
