Within the cultural and creative industries, there is growing demand for graduates who possess curatorial, research and writing skills and the ability to work across disciplines.

MA CCC meets this need by:

–Providing opportunities to curate live projects with leading London-based museums, galleries and archives
–A curriculum that integrates theory and practice
–Research-led teaching from esteemed curators, cultural historians, art historians, writers, arts professionals, archivists, designers and filmmakers
–Ensuring you’re part of a highly integrated and cross-disciplinary student community at the new campus in King’s Cross
–Being situated in the heart of London and in the heart of the world’s leading arts university

About the course
MA CCC at CSM proposes that culture—as an intentionally broad and contested term—is a provocative starting point for practices of curating and critical writing. You will do academic research in fields such as culture, history, theory, writing and curating. You’ll think creatively and critically about curating beyond conventional gallery spaces (such as a history museum, an architect’s studio or a housing estate) and about what kinds of discursive systems they reflect.

Recent projects
Students have curated projects with:

The Guardian newspaper
The Royal Festival Hall Archive
David Roberts Art Foundation
The South London Gallery
The Old Operating Theatre and Herb Garrett Museum
The Youth Centre on the Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate (Camden)
Flat Time House (the John Latham Archive)

These opportunities allow students to put research and curatorial practice together and contribute to the way curating can be understood.

MA CCC attracts students from diverse academic backgrounds, from history to politics and comparative literature to graphic design.

MA CCC graduates find employment in journalism, curating and archives, or have progressed onto doctorial work in art and design and Humanities subjects.
