Designed especially for visual artists, curators, and creative thinkers, IDSVA offers a world-class, low-residency PhD in art theory and philosophy. Residency sites include Rome, Spannocchia Castle (Tuscany), Siena, Florence, Venice, Berlin, Paris, Athens, and NYC.

Founded in 2006, IDSVA received accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges on November 20, 2015.
