Geneva is the most important training institution in art and design in Western Switzerland. It was created in 2006 from the amalgamation of the Fine School and the Applied School, both over two hundred years old. Head – Geneva offers a wide range of high level courses in two equally important domains: Fine Arts and Design.

Atelier projects, courses and seminars, commissioned work in close collaboration with the professional worlds of art and design, workshops led by invited international artists and designers, contribute to the dynamics of a teaching environment devised as a space for freedom and personal and social responsibility. Diverse aesthetic practices and the employment of significant technical, traditional or innovative techniques, are combined with theoretical teaching whose aim is as much the acquisition of knowledge as the practice of plural intellectual thinking.
