The MFA Programme in Medium- and Material Based Art is a multi-disciplinary, two-year fulltime study. The focus is on the development of each student’s individual art practice. The study emphasises art making and an innovative, critical attitude to medium and material-based art.

This is an intensive and demanding programme that stimulates and supports experimental and interdisciplinary approaches to the department’s unique combination of art and craft specialisations: Textile, Ceramics, Print and Drawing, Metal and Jewellery.

Each student is assigned a main tutor and a workspace at one of the four areas of specialisation. Teaching and learning methods include individual tutorials, group critiques, lectures, practical and theoretical workshops and seminars. Exhibition practice and writing practice are integrated components of the MFA programme.
