BROOKLYN COLLEGE OF THE CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK MASTER OF FINE ARTS STUDIO PROGRAM ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2008-2009

MFA students are provided with private sky-lit studios or semi-private spaces in a group studio, depending on their needs. Facilities include state-of-the-art digital laboratories, an extensive and well-equipped printmaking suite, a handsome student gallery, and the comfortable Meier Bernstein Art Library within the department offering books, periodicals, and Internet access for studying, reading, browsing, and socializing. Our studios and workrooms, including the sculpture shops and photography darkroom, are often open to students when not in use by classes.

The program attracts students from across the United States and around the world, ranging from accomplished artists represented by commercial galleries to those with little or no professional experience admitted for their talent and promise. A great many of our graduates are successful artists, some of whom also teach at leading art schools and universities. Others have become commercial artists, illustrators, computer graphics designers, architects, art directors, cartoonists, art restorers, and fashion designers–bringing their fine-arts sensibilities to these related fields. A number have won such major honors as Guggenheims, Fulbrights, Pollock-Krasners, and the Prix de Rome.
