Shared Spaces, the 2010 Faculty Biennial at Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), draws on the creative wealth and variety of CCAD’s distinguished faculty of artists and designers. The exhibition aims both to reflect the specialties taught at the college and to bring attention to the participants’ independent work as practicing artists. It opens September 8 at 4 p.m. with a curator’s tour, followed by a free reception from 5–7 p.m.
Seventy-seven full-time and adjunct faculty artists and designers—working in painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, 3D rendering, photography, textiles, sculpture, ceramics, wood, interactive media, performance, and the written word—reveal their distinct voices with current works, many of them made specifically for the exhibition. ”These artists are known locally, nationally, and internationally,” said Guest Curator Melissa Vogley Woods. “This is the only opportunity to see all these works in one place.”
CCAD gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. –6 p.m.; Thursdays until 8 p.m.; and Saturday 12 p.m. –5 p.m. The exhibition will be closed November 25–27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Admission is free.
