For the last twenty years, Graduate Fine Arts Chair Roy Dowell and his faculty of artists have trained many accomplished practitioners. To celebrate this anniversary, the exhibition features work by twenty graduates. They were selected by curators Sarah C. Bancroft, Curator of Orange County Museum of Art, and Dr. Nizan Shaked (MFA,’00), Asst Prof, Cal St Long Beach, with the assistance of Annetta Kapon (’85), Asst Chair, Otis Graduate FIne Arts; Meg Linton, Otis Director of Galleries and Exhibitions, and Stephanie Kern, Ben Maltz Gallery Asst. Their work includes installations, photography, painting, sculpture, video, and performance, and incorporates a wide range of materials, such as computer elements, coffee stirrers, concrete, ceramics, horsehair, tree bark, mannequin parts, and clothing. The alumni from this program have exhibited in the Whitney Biennial as well as in galleries and museums in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Athens, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Leuven (Belgium), Mexicali, and Barcelona.

Founded in Los Angeles in 1918, Otis College of Art and Design prepares diverse students of art and design to enrich the world through their creativity, their skill, and their vision.
