Leonardo Electronic Almanac (LEA) is pleased to announce the publication of its new volume Uncontainable, the exhibition catalog of ISEA2011 Istanbul: The 17th International Symposium on Electronic Art, a collaborative effort by Sabanci University, Kasa Gallery and Goldsmiths College, University of London.
The catalog, produced in collaboration with Leonardo/ISAST, ISEA International, Kasa Gallery, Sabanci University and Goldsmiths College, features the work of artists who exhibited their work in the ISEA2011 Istanbul exhibition program.
The Uncontainable exhibition, under the artistic direction of Lanfranco Aceti, was part of the Official Parallel Program of the 12th Istanbul Biennial.
“This catalog becomes a way to place an order to all of the events and activities, creating a record of the participating artists and the invited curators, for whose contributions I am extremely grateful. It is a snapshot of the city and of the event itself, which has signaled, we hope, a milestone in the history of the ISEA Foundation and new media arts,” said Lanfranco Aceti, the Artistic Director and Conference Chair of ISEA2011 Istanbul.
Uncontainable took place in various locations around the city of Istanbul and saw the participation of over 100 international artists working with contemporary electronic and digital media. Two video programs of ISEA2011, Dislocations and Geometries of Sublime, were displayed on the 400 square meters screens of the Media Facade of The Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb.
The Uncontainable catalog is available online here and as a printed volume on Amazon.
