After over 25 years of success in London, the Christie’s Wine Course has come to New York! Christie’s Education and NYWinesChristie’s are pleased to present a series of five evening sessions that will focus on either a wine producing region or a wine type. The intent of these classes is to provide substantive information in an accessible format. While the course requires no prerequisite, it will be of an informative nature rather than a purely hedonistic one. Topics to be covered include the Rhône, Germany, Australia, Spain and Dessert Wine. The sessions will be organized classroom style, with a flight of six to eight wines to illustrate each region or theme. Charles Curtis, Master of Wine and Vice President, Head of North American Wine Sales at Christie’s, will lead the sessions, which include a lecture followed by a tasting of appropriate wines. Curtis became the 22nd Master of Wine in the United States in 2004, and has garnered a number of honors, including the prestigious “Bourse André Crispin” in 2002, presented by the Commanderie de Bordeaux aux États-Unis.

About Christie’s Education
Christie’s Education New York has been designated as a degree-granting institution by the New York State Board of Regents. Our full-time graduate program in Modern Art, Connoisseurship and the History of the Art Market is registered with the New York State Education Department. Teaching methods are based on investigating works of art in order to train through direct exposure to art-world practice. Each piece of work a student undertakes is related to professional practice, from curatorial and acquisition report writing, to review writing and artifact analysis, as well as training in auction house cataloguing.

Christie’s Education short courses are non-degree programs run in conjunction with Christie’s auction house that address a wide variety of topics. These courses include full-day master classes, evening lecture series, and study trips away from New York.
