UCLA Establishes Endowed Chair in Art with $2 Million Gift

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA—Lynda and Stewart Resnick, co-owners of the food and snack business the Wonderful Company, have donated $2 million to the University of California, Los Angeles. The funds will be used to establish the Lynda and Stewart Resnick endowed chair in art at the School of the Arts and Architecture.

The couple, whose company owns Fiji Water, Wonderful Pistachios, and POM Wonderful, among other products, are longtime supporters of the school. In 2010, the Resnicks donated $1 million to UCLA to help launch its Resnick Scholars Program, which supported nearly 150 graduate and undergraduate students over the course of five years of academic study, and in 2018, they made the lead gift of $30 million to the Hammer Museum’s $180 milllion capital campaign, which was created to raise funds for a multiyear renovation and expansion project.

“Art expands the mind, unites communities, pushes people to challenge their assumptions, and makes the world a better place,” said Lynda Resnick. “Stewart and I are delighted to offer this gift which will help educate and train future generations of artists, so that we may all enjoy their work for many years to come.”
