NYU's Institute of Fine Arts Receives Gift in Support of Its Curatorial Program

NEW YORK—New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts is planning to overhaul its MA and Ph.D. curatorial studies program following a major gift from the institute’s board chair, Marica Vilcek, and her husband, scientist Jan Vilcek.

“We are honored to endow this program so that the Institute may continue to offer rigorous training in curatorial studies and sustain its success in placing alumni into leadership positions at the world’s foremost art institutions,” Marica and Jan Vilcek said in a statement.

The newly-designed Marica and Jan Vilcek Curatorial Program will give students greater opportunities to take museum-based courses taught by prominent curators at institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Frick Collection, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; engage with current issues in curatorial work; and participate in fellowships at collaborating museums.
