Ellen Driscoll Awarded the International Sculpture Center Outstanding Educator Award

HAMILTON, NEW JERSEY—Ellen Driscoll has been awarded the Outstanding Educator Award from the International Sculpture Center for her commitment to the education of the next generation of sculptors and the advancement of the field of sculpture through studio and academic practice. Driscoll was selected by a unanimous vote from a pool of fifty-seven nominated educators and will be the subject of a feature article in ISC’s Sculpture magazine.

Driscoll will be presented with the award at a ceremony hosted by Bard College, where since 2013 she has been chair of the studio arts and visiting professor of sculpture. She has previously held faculty positions at the Rhode Island School of Design, School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, Princeton University, Parsons School of Design, and Purchase College. She is a graduate of Wesleyan and Columbia universities and delivered lectures at dozens of schools in the United States and abroad.

In addition to her academic appointments, Driscoll has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, Anonymous Was a Women, and the Fine Arts Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Her work is included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others.
