[email protected]

[email protected] is a hub of interdisciplinary research, scholarship and public outreach on issues in media, technology and culture. Its main focus is the study of contemporary media. [email protected] is based in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University, but its projects are interdisciplinary in nature and involve scholars from other fields as well as non-academics.

For 2012–2017, [email protected] will be focusing on the question of Media and Democracy, following a five-year program tentatively structured around the following themes:

Media, War and Conflict (2012-2013)
, Participatory Media (2013-2014)
, Media, Senses and Sensibilities (2014-2015)
, Art, Media and the Public Sphere(s) (2015-2016)
, and Media and the Environment (2016-2017).

[email protected]’s activities are supported by McGill University and most notably by the Beaverbrook Fund for [email protected], created by a generous gift from the Beaverbrook Canadian Foundation.
