SMU Meadows School of the Arts

Meadows School of the Arts provides intense, conservatory-style study in performing and visual arts, hands-on communications training in a top-five media market, prime internships, arts entrepreneurship courses, and opportunities to double major across disciplines campus-wide. The school presents over 400 events a year for all SMU students and the public, including art exhibits, lectures, dance and music concerts, theatre performances and more. Meadows offers multiple opportunities and resources for art students, such as the MFA Site Seminar, a week-long retreat held alternately in an international location and on the SMU campus in Taos, N.M.; the New York Colloquium trip to NYC museums and galleries; postgraduate fellowships, including an exchange program with E.N.A.S. in Dijon, France; scholarships; travel awards and more. SMU Meadows is located in Dallas, Texas, home of the largest urban arts district in the United States.



Undergraduate BA and BFA: 4 years, full-time; MFA: 2 years, full-time, Fall admission only.


Art: Painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, intermedia, ceramics; art in the world, professional practice.
