Sir Roger Penrose: Einstein’s Amazing Theory of Gravity: Black Holes and Novel Ideas in Cosmology

From The Physics of Nothing

Roger Penrose is one of the world’s greatest living physicists and certainly one of the most distinguished experts on Einstein’s general relativity. Here, he gives a public lecture describing his own distinctive way of thinking about a theory to which he himself has contributed as much as anyone now alive. He was eighty-four when he gave this lecture, as reflected by his presentation style (overhead slides!). Still, he is energetic and crystal clear, a true master of the subject. Watching this video provides both deep and engaging insight into Einstein’s theory, and also a piece of the history of twentieth and twenty-first century physics.
