NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti is glad to announce the launch of the Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies MA in Rome.*

Established in 2006 in Milan, the MA combines solid training in artistic production with highly specialized curatorial practice. Lead by globally recognized artists, curators, critics and intellectuals, the program explores the relationship between art, visual culture, aesthetics and social dynamics, focusing on the main research and theoretical methodologies of contemporary art. Given the solid positioning of the NABA Visual Arts Department within the contemporary art system and its international team, students will be encouraged to develop a solid interdisciplinary approach, critical thinking as well as to embrace new educational and operating models within the field of contemporary art.

In order to promote the newly established MA program in Rome, NABA intends to support highly motivated and talented young people, by offering one scholarship covering the full tuition fees to attend the two-year Master of Arts program in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies, starting from October 2022. The scholarship will be awarded based on the evaluation of the candidates’ portfolio, motivational letter and curriculum vitae. Applications by the candidates will be assessed by an international Jury consisting of Andrea Bellini (Director, Centre d'Art Contemporain, Genève), Cristiana Collu (Director, Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Rome), Hou Hanru (Art Curator and Artistic Director, MAXXI, Rome), Marco Scotini (Visual Arts Department Head, NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti), Kathryn Weir (Director, MADRE, Naples).
