Study art or design? Become a conservator? On January 12, 2022, the Bern University of the Arts HKB will provide information about all study programs in the departments of Design and Art as well as Conservation and Restoration. You can find out which presentation will take place when on Zoom here. We are pleased that you are interested in studying at the HKB and look forward to meeting you virtually! These study programs will be presented:
Division of Design and Fine Arts
BA Multimedia Production: The study program is oriented towards the growing number of media and as well as the constantly developing new media technologies.
BA Fine Arts: Focuses on an individual study profile that addresses the diversity of artistic possibilities and the social conditions of art.
BA Mediation in Art and Design: You will acquire the basics in the fields of art, design, media, materiality and art history and develop your own artistic and design practice.
BA Visual Communication: You will deal with the conception, realization, visualization and communication of information and practice different creative expressions and strategies during your studies.
MA Design: The Master Design is a project study program for socially relevant design and design research projects.
MA Art Education: The program is aimed at future mediators in art and design and qualifies them to work in various institutional contexts.
MA Multimedia Communication & Publishing: This master strengthens your professional and leadership skills in political communication or journalism.

MA Contemporary Arts Practice, CAP: “CAP” is an interdisciplinary degree for artists* and writers in Fine Arts, Sound Arts, Literary Writing/Translation, and Performance Art.
Division of Conservation and Restoration
BA Conservation: Learn how to preserve art and cultural property in this bachelor’s degree program, from paintings and sculptures to graphics, video art, and buildings.
MA Conservation-Restoration: Take responsibility for conservation projects yourself—that’s where the Master’s program in Conservation-Restoration will lead you.
