At Tyler, we believe in stretching boundaries, blending disciplinary practices and thinking deeply about the ability of art and design to influence change. As a graduate student, you’ll be challenged to critically examine—and exceed—your own expectations as a creator, collaborator and researcher in a collegial, inclusive community. You will be mentored by accomplished faculty widely recognized as among the best practitioners in their fields and have access to world-class facilities, a defining part of the Tyler experience, with the technology and tools to go wherever your creative vision takes you.

Tyler's 225,000-square-foot building is home to expansive light-filled studios, collaborative spaces, classrooms, lecture halls, a green courtyard and multiple exhibition areas. The 50,000-square-foot Architecture Building features four floors of studios and fabrication labs, including dedicated graduate studio space.

With the main campus in Philadelphia, a hub of artistic and architectural significance, you will benefit from additional opportunities beyond the studio and classroom. The city makes for an affordable and convenient home base to visit other major cities with flourishing arts and cultural scenes —such as New York City, Washington D.C., and Baltimore.

As part of Temple University, a leading public research institution, Tyler offers one of the best values in higher education through a range of generous funding opportunities for incoming and continuing students. All applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships, assistantships, and fellowships plus a stipend for the duration of the degree program.

Tyler’s extensive network of alumni includes many of today’s most distinguished artists, designers, art historians and scholars, architects and urban planners. Tyler alumni have built a legacy of leadership and influence that endures more than 80 years after the school’s founding.
