Parsons Fine Arts is pleased to announce the spring 2021 MFA virtual open studios on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 6 to 9pm EST. A vibrant group of  international graduate students will open their creative spaces virtually to the public and be available to answer questions and discuss their work.

Please visit here.

Open Studios provides a rare opportunity to view works in progress and meet these emerging artists in an informal setting. Despite and throughout this trying pandemic year, these artists have excelled in their practices, demonstrating determination, curiosity and commitment. Perhaps more than ever, they have been reflecting critically on the world around them. Visitors will gain insight into the diverse practices fostered within our studio art program, which embraces interdisciplinary research, technical experimentation, intellectual rigor and formal innovation.

The artists will be present in their studios at this time and would welcome an opportunity to meet with you. Simply click on their email addresses found on each artist page to set up a time. The platform will remain live throughout the summer as part of the Parsons Festival, which runs through August 30, 2021.

Parsons Fine Arts
Parsons Fine Arts MFA is a dynamic two-year, cross-disciplinary program committed to expanding the formal, intellectual and conceptual dimensions of emerging artists’ work. We foster studio-based research and scholarship that extends the boundaries of contemporary cultural expression, developed through a global understanding of the arts. Parsons Fine Arts is committed to diversity among students and faculty that provides a potent learning community.  Housed within both Parsons School of Design and The New School University, the Fine Arts program is uniquely positioned within a progressive educational environment. Our international student body has access to a wide spectrum of activities, ranging from rigorous formal and aesthetic investigations to cross-disciplinary collaborations with design, performing arts and humanities students, to public forums that address pressing social and political concerns.

We are home to an active, international faculty whose work has been included in the Whitney Biennial, Documenta, the Sharjah Biennial and the Venice Biennale; and exhibited in institutions such as the Arko Art Center, Seoul and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Additionally our Visiting Artist Lecture Series and our Critic and Curator Series features renowned, multidisciplinary artists, curators and critics who are available for one-on-one visits with graduate students.
