2019 first Zhijiang International Youth Art Festival will be held from May 24 to June 10, 2019 at the Xiangshan Art Commune and China Academy of Art, etc (Hangzhou, China).

It takes “Veni, Vidi, We Young” as the main theme, “Game/Play, Science-fiction andCommune as the core concepts. More than 3000 young artists, si-fi writers, designers, scholars and coders will be involved in this year’s Zhijiang International Youth Art Festival, bringing more than 40 themed projects that develops to six main parts:

Exhibition
Combines the graduation season of 2019 China Academy of Art and the graduation exhibition of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. It mainly includes the First Design Art Festival: The Voice of Society, the Black and White District-black & white art exhibition, the 24-Frames video exhibition, and two major theme exhibitions of Science-Fiction and Game/Play.

Performance 
Holds the fifth International Intermedia Art Festival “Evolution” that includes the MouSen-directed Mega Structure work Moan of Youth based on The Great God Brown, the VR project “Black Mirror (Season 8): Heterotopia Now, etc.

Forum
Organizes “Highland Forum,” which has three themes of “Game/Play,” “Science-Fiction” and “Art & Technology.” Invites famous writers such as Han Song, Wang Jinkang and Stanly Chen to join in hot debates with artists and designers.

Playshop
Opens “Young to young” Playshop, which is an international collaborative curriculum brand established by the School of Design and Innovation of CAA. 16 foreign artists around the world will coorperate with 16 outstanding young domestic teachers. 500 students will participate in this one-month collaborative teaching program.

Market
Sets up creative art market “IP Manifesto,” shows the fusion of science and technology with holographic experience, game interaction and open scenes.

Game/play
This festival is both a participatory game and an immersive drama with plots, props, main lines and branches. We develop the AR interface for the game and place flesh NPC (non-player characters) around the venue as well, in order to connect online and offline, the future and the past.

The China Academy of Art is the first comprehensive national college of fine arts with the most complete discipline and the most complete scale in China. The academy attaches great importance to the dual responsibility of cultural heritage innovation and art education, and strives to create a visual art orientalism system and create a first-class visual arts discipline with oriental culture and method characteristics. The academy now has more than 9,000 students and about 10,000 faculty members.

Main site—Xiangshan Art Commune
The Xiangshan Art Commune was designed by the team of Li Kaisheng, a professor at the China Academy of Art, based on the Song dynasty ink painting Xi Shan Qing Yuan Tu. The Xiangshan Art Commune has a planned building area of 80,000 square meters. It is the first building group created on the condition of a natural Chinese rural village texture, integrating classical and modern Chinese space aesthetics.
