“If you celebrate it, it’s art. If you don’t, it isn’t!” (John Cage)20 years of the KHM: Celebration and non-stop manifestation

In autumn 1990, the newly founded KHM began teaching with its Audiovisual Media postgraduate course, advised, supported and set up by a multitude of committed people from politics, the arts, science and culture.

The KHM would like to take this chance to look back and celebrate its 20 years of existence with addresses and contributions by some of these key actors as well as statements on its past, present and future. From 2:00 p.m. onwards, the celebration will continue as a long-durational performance, with artistic contributions by former and current students, professors and artistic/academic staff.

With welcoming addresses and contributions by and with initiators, designers and friends of the KHM. With Klaus Jung (chancellor of the KHM) and, among others, Anke Brunn (former NRW minister for science and research and honorary senator of the KHM), Kaspar König (director of Museum Ludwig), Henrik R. Hanstein (chairman of “Verein der Freunde der KHM”) …

Sound composition: Anthony Moore and Martin Rumori.
