Scenofest 2011 – open registration for students

Prague Quadrennial

The Scenofest takes place during the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, the world´s largest scenography event, held once every four years in Prague since 1967 – which gives to participating students the opportunity to benefit from the presence in Prague of thousands of artists from 76 countries, over 15 000 m2 of exhibitions, the Intersection interactive installation/perfomance as well as hundreds of performances, workshops, lectures, discussions, presentations…

Students can participate in three projects within the Scenofest:

Six Acts – working as part of an ensemble with a leading international artist you will have the opportunity to create a site-specific performance that will take place in the very heart of Prague. Some of the performances will be spectacular, some intimate but all of them will be unique to the city!

Design as Performance – a series of indoor performances where we invite you to tell a story through sound and light (Disk Stories) and outdoor performances (Street Stories) created for the streets of Prague.

Workshops – led by leading international artists and academics, our programme of one and two day workshops in all aspects of performance design and space has space for over 1,500 students. These include workshops in: lighting and sound design, digital media, projection, costume, puppetry, scenography, installation art, technical theatre, dramaturgy, directing, theatre architecture, and virtual theatre.

Registration to Scenofest Workshops will be open on January 15, 2011.
