USC Roski School of Fine Arts is seeking an experienced scholar and teacher with a strong commitment to undergraduate education who will be responsible for developing the critical studies program within an undergraduate studio curriculum. The position entails developing lower and upper level undergraduate courses that are interdisciplinary and which support the study and integration of the theoretical and scholarly aspects of the visual arts in studio practice during the art or design student’s course of study. The candidate will develop an innovative vision for undergraduate critical studies in collaboration with the Roski School faculty, and build upon existing linkages within the University. The position requires administrative leadership and service to the University. USC strongly values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity employment. The School’s renowned faculty provides students with a well-balanced education in creative, interpretive, and critical processes essential to practicing art. In lectures, seminars, and studio meetings, faculty energetically challenge fixed notions of art and culture. The School offers B.F.A. and B.A. degrees, and master’s degrees in fine arts (M.F.A.) and public art studies (M.P.A.S.). The School maintains strong relationships with a wide range of Southern California’s exceptional museums, galleries, cultural institutions, and art and design professionals.
