Digital Video Workshop | April 9 + 16
Held in Emily Carr’s cutting-edge media labs, the Digital Video Workshop students will explore the possibilities of creating appropriation-based video works using found footage, YouTube and Final Cut Pro. Students will think through choices based on form, rhythm, and content, and learn technical skills relating to importing/exporting, transitions, sequencing, and sound. This workshop will culminate with a screening and critique of students’ projects.

Portfolio Workshop| April 10 + 17
This intensive weekend workshop focuses on developing skills in documentation, writing, and the production of digital and physical portfolios. Students will have the opportunity to bring in their current portfolios for review by leading faculty. Issues surrounding selection of work, photo documentation and practical approaches to building a strong portfolio will be discussed. This workshop is ideal for students looking to study art and design at a post-secondary level.

Focused on designing for positive change, this multi-disciplinary camp will guide young designers as they address some of urban Vancouver’s most pressing issues. Get ready for a six-day hands-on think tank, with instruction in thinking like a designer, idea generation, sketching, prototyping, communication design, and more!
