Graduate Fine Arts students acquire the necessary support and theoretical resources to develop an understanding of the demands of a professional art practice. Our program promotes strong interaction and critical dialogue among all participants, encouraging students to converse in the language of art. Students produce work that reflects their ideas, needs and ambitions, as well as the challenges of the artistic environment and contemporary issues and concerns.

Students and faculty alike help determine the direction of the program. At the same time, our intimate community within the College is strengthened by the broader multilayered and diverse art world.

Graduate faculty: Chair Roy Dowell; Judie Bamber, Kathrin Burmester, Cletus Dalglish-Schommer, Annetta Kapon, John Knight, Kori Newkirk, Renee Petropoulos, Benjamin Weissman, in addition to visiting artist lecturers and critics. The international dimension of the program features student exchanges with the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam and other opportunities for residencies and travel.

Upcoming event:
Graduate Fine Arts Open Studios April 1, 2012 1–5pm
1550 Franklin Ave
El Segundo CA 90245
