Project Anywhere: Call for Proposals

Project Anywhere is a vehicle for the dissemination and peer validation of advanced practice-based artistic research at the outer limits of location-specificity.

projectanywhere.net

It is now relatively commonplace for contemporary art to transcend the spatial, temporal, geographic and technical limitations of conventional exhibition contexts. Meanwhile, artist academics still struggle with the problem of validation for practice-based research outcomes. Consequently, Project Anywhere aims to:

1.  Provide a vehicle for the dissemination of art at the outermost limits of location-specificity.

2.  Facilitate peer validation for practice-based research in the arts with a view to addressing lingering bias toward the journal-based paradigm for assessing research quality.

To submit a proposal for peer consideration to Project Anywhere, please supply the following materials in a single zipped folder (not exceeding 8mg):

1. Title of project
2. Location(s) for project
3. Time/duration (if known – this can be updated later)
4. A detailed project proposal
5. Any images, files (must be under 8mg in total), and/or links

Please send proposals to [email protected]

Please supply your name and contact details within the body of the email (NOT within the project proposal folder).

Project Anywhere encourages individual and collaborative projects (and is also open to partnerships with other institutions at a project level). We are currently looking for participation from artists, institutions, and academics with a view to building a robust international network of projects and blind peer reviewers. Please note that our full blind peer review system will be in place from 2013. Proposals for our 2013 program will be accepted anytime during 2012.

Meanwhile, we are pleased to present our first three exciting projects:

Mark Shorter. Schleimgurgeln: Song For Glover, November 20-23, 2012, Mount Wellington, Tasmania, Australia. projectanywhere.net/project/schleimgurgeln-song-for-glover

Tagny Duff. WetNet, June 16- September 2, Guimarães, Portugal. projectanywhere.net/project/wetnet

Honi Ryan. Silent Dinner Party, various locations throughout 2012. projectanywhere.net/project/silent-dinner-party
