The European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA) is pleased to announce the 6th ELIA Teachers’ Academy, bringing together lecturers from Higher Arts Education across Europe and beyond, and the 5th NEU/NOW Festival, an innovative international platform for talented graduating artists from across disciplines to present themselves within a professional arts context.

Hosted by the Utrecht School of the Arts the 2013 edition of the Teachers’ Academy, centered on the theme ‘Preparing the Artist of Tomorrow,’ will engage closely with selected work presented in the NEU/NOW LIVE Festival in Amsterdam.

Call for Presentations, Papers and Workshops for the Teachers’ Academy
Deadline: 11 January 2013
To shape the content of the ELIA Teachers’ Academy 2013 ELIA invites colleagues from ELIA member institutions from all art disciplines to contribute to the programme. From the submissions an international review panel will select approximately 20 presentations, papers, workshops and Pecha Kuchas.

Theme
The ELIA Teachers’ Academy is a platform for new ideas and innovative practices for educating the next generation of artists.

The 2013 edition will address the following themes: 
Social entrepreneurship (sustainability, co-creation and new business models);
Digital technologies (their use and impact in teaching environments and arts practices);
The artist as content maker (re-imagining the craft of content production in and outside the arts).

The three-day programme offers keynote speeches, presentations, workshops and panel discussions.

Who can participate?
Lecturers teaching in art schools who are directly involved in the delivery of theory and/or practice, artistic researchers and researchers in arts education or pedagogy who want to
engage with innovative pedagogic methods on an international level;
gain new insights and look to future practices in educating and training artists across all art disciplines;
share ideas and practices with like-minded international colleagues.

Please note, the working language of the ELIA Teachers’ Academy will be English.

Call for Nominations for the NEU/NOW Festival
Deadline: 7 January 2013

The NEU/NOW Festival 2013 is looking for nominations of young artists to participate in the festival. From the nominated projects, a maximum of 150 projects will be presented online at www.neunow.com, which is widely accessible to arts professionals and the public alike.

A selection of projects will be presented in the NEU/NOW LIVE Festival 2013 that will take place 22-26 June 2013 in Amsterdam in collaboration with the ITs Festival Amsterdam.

Who can Participate?
The NEU/NOW Festival is open to arts students in their final year of study and recent graduates (within one year of graduation) of Higher Arts Education Institutions which are ELIA members, ELIA associate members or ELIA non-European members.

The call for entry to this competition is also open to institutional members of ELIA partner networks:
AEC-European Association of Conservatories
CILECT-International Association of Film and Television Schools

Students (as individuals or groups) are nominated, by their institution, within one of the following five broad categories:
Visual Arts
Design/Architecture
Theatre/Dance
Music/Sound
Film /Animation
