This year’s graduation exhibition (MFA) presents 14 artists working in a wide range of media, including video, sound, painting and performance.

The common denominator in the exhibition Farewell, My Lovely is a desire to explore how contemporary society relates to nature and the human body. The many different strategies employed by the participating artists show that it is possible to successfully approach our surroundings and our state of culture from seemingly modest positions. Philosophical preoccupations of time and mortality are resurfacing again and, in tune with a wider development in contemporary art, we are in this exhibition encountering a generation of artists who allow for contemplation as well as emotive response to play an important part in the creative process.

A fully illustrated hardcover catalogue accompanies the exhibition, edited by Joakim Borda and with an essay by Kim West. Design: Studio Pop, Copenhagen.

Parallel with the exhibition at Bildmuseet there will be a showcase exhibition of the same artists at Malmö Konsthall, in connection with Malmö Nordic 2013.
