New York:
Mapping Career Opportunities in the Art World (new)
This five-day course is designed for anyone interested in a career in the arts, from undergraduates and recent graduates to mid-career professionals looking to make a change. In a single week, students will hear from accomplished professionals in a variety of roles across the art world, including Katelijne De Backer, Director, Art Miami, New York; Geri Thomas, president of Thomas & Associates, an innovative executive placement and consulting firm specializing in museums, non-profit organizations, and art businesses nationwide; as well as Christie’s Education faculty and Christie’s Human Resources executives. The course will also help students learn to take charge of their own careers, with workshops on resume-writing and networking skills.

Contemporary Art Summer School
One of Christie’s Education’s most popular offerings, this intensive, weeklong program takes art enthusiasts behind the scenes of the contemporary art world in New York, including venues not normally open to the public. Each day begins with lectures on contemporary art and the art market, followed by afternoon field trips around New York City, such as visits to artists’ studios in Brooklyn, guided tours of major museum exhibitions, viewings of private collections, Chelsea gallery crawls, and more. Speakers are drawn from various sectors of the art world to provide multiple perspectives. This course attracts people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities, drawn to the program by a shared interest in learning about art, having fun and meeting new people.

London:
Making the Most of Minimalism 
Making the Most of Minimalism is a course which will connect with the Agnes Martin exhibition at Tate Modern and the Christie’s “London Art Now” Contemporary Art Summer School.

Looking at artists Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, Dan Flavin and Carl Andre, participants will explore the refreshing and sometime edgy ideas and works produced by artists labeled—or indeed mislabeled-Minimalists in the 1960s—the decade of Pop and Op, Land Art and Earthworks, among other art movements of the time.

Dates: July 8–9, 2015; 10:30am–4:30pm
Course fee: 660 GBP

London Art Now
This five-day summer school immerses students in the culture of contemporary art, the London art scene, and contemporary art world practice. Specialist-led sessions will be held in important galleries, museum collections and temporary exhibitions, alongside visits to artists’ studios, emerging galleries, and “alternative” exhibition spaces.

Dates: July 13–17, 2015; 10:30am–4:30pm
Course fee: 995 GBP
