Newcastle University, UK, is a world-class civic university with a global reputation for academic excellence. We are seeking to appoint a practising artist of international standing as Professor of Fine Art in its School of Arts and Cultures.

The School was recently ranked number one in the UK for fine art and leads the way in practice-based research across fine art, media and communication, museum and heritage studies, art history, music, and digital media. With the stimulus of Newcastle’s outstanding academics, students, and facilities, we want to engage your creativity to help us break new and innovative ground in teaching and practice. You will take a lead advancing a culture of creative excellence within the School, contributing to curriculum design, mentoring our emerging artists and promoting the School among artists and arts organisations regionally, nationally, and internationally. The appointment is on a permanent basis. This is a full-time teaching and research position. Part-time appointments will also be considered.

For an informal discussion, please contact Sabine Tilly or Christopher Lake of our recruitment partners Syllogism on T +44 (0)203 417 6076, or [email protected]

Please note that applications for this position should be made via Syllogism.
