Each summer RISD opens its campus to matriculating students, art and design professionals and those considering a degree in the visual arts. Students from around the world pursue a variety of art and design disciplines taught by accomplished, award-winning artists, designers and guest critics.

Students access RISD’s exceptional studio facilities and renowned Museum of Art and Fleet Library, as well as Edna Lawrence Nature Lab, with its repository of more than 90,000 natural specimens and microscopy lab.

RISD Summer Programs offers a range of six-week courses and two-week intensives for college credit: Summer Studies courses in visual arts and design and liberal arts; the Textiles Summer Institute; and the Summer Institute for Graphic Design Studies.
