The Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance (ICPP), founded in 2010, brings artists, presenters, academics, and other performing arts professionals together to develop a responsive curatorial practice that takes the best from the fields of visual arts and performance. Starting in summer 2011, the ICPP will offer a professional certificate program in Curatorial Practice in Performance. The certificate program will last nine months and consist of three semesters anchored by three on-campus residency periods. Through a low-residency model, the ICPP asks its students to not only engage with ideas but also to simultaneously put those ideas into practice in their professional lives. The ICPP is committed to creating a rigorous and creative learning environment, enhanced and energized by the outside activities of its students and instructors, in order to deepen the way in which we contextualize, produce, and view contemporary performance.
