Sasha Engelmann

Sasha Engelmann was born in California and raised between Los Angeles and the Croatian coast. She is currently a junior at Stanford University. Her studies focus on the critical, philosophical and artistic dimensions of the changing relationship between humans and natural ecology. Her work includes an investigation of Merleau-Ponty’s Phenomenology of Perception in the work of Olafur Eliasson and Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

Recently, she traveled to Berlin and Vienna to examine the site-specific work of these artists. At the moment Sasha is studying in Paris at the Sorbonne, preparing for an interdisciplinary thesis on the eco-mimetic poetry of W.S. Merwin.
