Today, the Ensba provides a high level of training over a period of five years, in which the foundations of artistic process are conjoined with the stakes of contemporary art production. Teaching is diversified and based on working in the studio. Three departments: artistic practices, theories of art, technical workshops allow for efficient organization and flexibility, regular dialogue, and the putting into place of projects. Besides the professors and studio-heads, invited artists contribute to and enlarge the School's pedagogical program.

The Ensba media center provides students with rich documentation on art, and organizes conferences, seminars, and debates throughout the year.
Finally, students benefit from the School's active international programs, through exchange agreements with foreign schools all over the world (forty or so students participate each year). At the end of their period of study, students receive a diploma (diplôme national supérieur d'arts plastiques), after presenting their work to a jury largely made up of specialists from outside of the School.
