Applications are invited for the post of Head of School of Design who will also be Associate Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design. The post holder will be in charge of a set of courses ranging from Architecture to Fashion and will play a significant role in the development not only of the School, but of the Faculty and the University College as well. The successful candidate will work closely with the Dean, planning and securing the faculty's strategic goals. The role requires effective academic and operational management, and the ability to line manage staff responsible for learning, teaching and assessment across a group of design courses. The post holder will support staff in their engagement with scholarship, research, enterprise and knowledge transfer activities.

Candidates will hold postgraduate qualifications and experience of academic leadership, management and research relevant to the subjects offered within the School. We seek an Associate Dean/Head of School of Design who possesses excellent communication skills, has the ability to work with established teams, and who will bring authority, leadership and enthusiasm to this key area of our academic provision.
