The Visual Arts Program seeks to fill a position either as Assistant Professor (tenure-track research faculty), or as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice (practice faculty), specializing in painting, to teach graduate and undergraduate level courses, effective July 1, 2014.

The program seeks faculty with a vibrant painting practice as well as teaching experience. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to engage with all students in the MFA program regardless of medium, and be conversant in critical issues and theoretic discussions in the art world.

Teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels is expected, in addition to active participation in departmental committees. The candidate must be capable of service and leadership in the program and demonstrate the potential for vision and direction that might be expected from a future rotating term as director of undergraduate or graduate studies, or program chair for Visual Arts.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. Masters degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Salary commensurate with experience.
